Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Senior Business Strategy Manager to join our team. This is a hybrid role based out of our Carrollton, TX Office.

Our DCEM Division is a strategic hub supporting mission-critical operations, electrification, and digital transformation. The Growth Strategy Office drives long-term business planning, market intelligence, and M&A initiatives that align with MHI’s global objectives and carbon reduction goals. 

 

We are seeking a Senior Business Strategy Manager to lead strategic planning, market analysis, and M&A support for our datacenter and electrification businesses. This role will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, guiding executive decision-making, and supporting high-impact transactions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the data center and electrification sectors, strong analytical capabilities, and a collaborative leadership style.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least 8+ years of experience in business strategy, market analysis, or business development, preferably in the data center or technology sectors and 5+ years of experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy Development & Execution

  • Define and drive strategic priorities across MHI’s data center initiatives, ensuring alignment with U.S. and global business objectives.
  • Translate insights from electrification, AI infrastructure, and data center market trends into actionable growth strategies.
  • Guide leadership decision-making with clear recommendations on strategic investments, partnerships, and innovation opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional strategic planning sessions and ensure alignment across engineering, operations, and sustainability teams.
  • Establish governance frameworks and performance metrics to track progress against strategic and environmental goals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, contributing to long-term planning and organizational development.

Market Intelligence & Analysis

  • Lead market intelligence efforts focused on competitors, customer segmentation, pricing models, and regulatory trends.
  • Develop executive-level reports and presentations to communicate strategic implications and market opportunities.
  • Build and manage a high-performing market intelligence team, including Voice of the Customer (VoC) programs and external advisory networks.
  • Monitor industry trends in data center infrastructure, electrification, and sustainability to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with external research firms and industry associations to enhance insight generation and strategic foresight.

M&A Transaction Support

  • Lead sourcing and pipeline development for potential acquisitions aligned with MHI’s strategic and sustainability goals.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments, outreach, and strategic fit analysis for M&A targets.
  • Coordinate end-to-end deal execution, including due diligence, valuation modeling, and financial impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with legal, tax, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment and risk mitigation.
  • Support post-merger integration planning, focusing on operational synergies, cultural alignment, and strategic value creation.

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in business strategy, market analysis, or business development, preferably in the data center or technology sectors.
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven experience in M&A transactions, including due diligence and deal structuring.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in market research tools and data analysis software.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment, including working with colleagues in Japan.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40%).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • MBA or advanced degree.
    • Experience in the data center, electrification, or technology sectors.
    • PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification.
    • Familiarity with Japanese business culture is a plus.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel %: 40%
  • Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late night work if applicable: %
  • Full-time position based in Carrollton, TX.
  • Hybrid/Remote work options available: Remote work supported for strategic planning, analysis, and collaboration; on-site presence required for key meetings and integration activities
  • Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, talk and/or hear Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
