Position Summary:
Under the direction of the IT Systems Manager, the IT Systems Engineer serves as the senior technical professional for infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security operations within the Lakeland Care Plus Technology Division.
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing stewardship of secure, reliable systems for LC Plus Technology and its clients. The Engineer plays a central role in strategizing, designing, and executing technology solutions that scale across diverse environments, ensuring consistency, compliance, and performance.
The Engineer provides design oversight, advanced technical execution, and mentorship to other technical staff, strengthening LC Plus Technology’s capability to deliver enterprise-grade outcomes while maintaining the agility and customer focus of a growing organization.
Essential Competencies:
- Own outcomes for technology initiatives and service delivery across infrastructure, networking, cloud and security.

- Design and implement resilient solutions that enhance reliability, throughput, and stability.
- Champion standardization and documentation to drive repeatability, certification readiness, and operational maturity.
- Maintain disciplined change management and configuration control.
- Deliver enterprise-grade designs that balance security, performance, and scalability.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of architecture, standards, and implementations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams, leadership, and clients.
- Collaborate effectively with all teams, including but not limited to IT Systems, Service Desk, Innovations, and Business IT teams to address systemic issues and enhance service reliability.
- Build understanding and alignment across all LC Plus entities and client organizations.
- Build trust with clients, vendors, and colleagues through technical credibility, accountability, and follow-through.
- Partner with internal and external teams to ensure cohesive and reliable service delivery.
- Demonstrate integrity, ownership, and alignment with LC Plus’s mission and values.
- Maintain high professional standards and represents LC Plus as a senior technical authority.
- Contribute to an environment of continuous learning, growth, and process improvement.

Work Relationships and Scope:
Reports to the IT Systems Manager. Collaborates with Service Desk, Innovations, and Business IT teams, as well as vendors and client stakeholders. Provides senior technical leadership, project delivery, and advanced troubleshooting. Ensures that infrastructure initiatives directly support LC Plus and client operational and revenue objectives.
Working Conditions:
Work is largely performed remotely, or in an office environment, with minimal chance for personal injury. The position requires flexibility to support critical operations, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays. Some travel will be required for client site work or major projects.
While the expectation is to build systems and processes that minimize disruption during non-standard hours, the Engineer is expected to engage as needed to maintain operational continuity and protect client outcomes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of formal education and experience preferred (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in systems engineering roles encompassing networking, cloud, virtualization, and infrastructure. Multi-tenant or MSP experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and maintain enterprise-grade systems with attention to documentation, compliance, and collaboration.
- Proven Hands-On Expertise In:
- Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Microsoft 365 administration.
- Networking: firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, segmentation, and secure remote access.
- Virtualization: VMware vSphere design, lifecycle management, backup, and recovery.
- Cloud architecture: Azure landing zones, hybrid identity, resource governance, and AWS fundamentals.
- Data platform support: SQL and data-heavy application environments with focus on sizing, HA, DR, and access controls.
- Scripting and automation: PowerShell, Python, infrastructure automation, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Logging and observability: Sentinel, SIEM, Log Analytics, and related tools.
- Active pursuit or attainment of certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or comparable professional credentials.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
