Job Description

Job Purpose Statement: The job of Athletic/PE Attendant is done for the purpose of monitoring locker room activities, maintaining equipment and supplies utilized in physical education program and assisting Physical Education Department staff.

Essential Job Functions:

Cleans towels, uniforms, equipment and locker room for the purpose of ensuring their availability for use.

Controls equipment distribution including receiving and verifying orders for the purpose of ensuring availability for use.

Inventories PE department equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of verifying stock on hand and identifying reordering requirements.

Maintains various records (e.g. loaner uniforms, locks issued, etc.) for the purpose of documenting use of items and maintaining accurate inventory.

Monitors locker room activities for the purpose of maintaining security for students, personal items and equipment.

Responds to inquiries from students, teachers, and other staff for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.

 Other Job Functions:

Administers basic first aid of students as may be required for the purpose of addressing immediate medical needs of students.

Assists other PE personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

 Job Requirements - Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge to perform basic math, to read procedures, write complex sentences and speak distinctly; and to apply common sense understanding of detailed multi-step instructions.

 Skills to perform multiple specialized technical tasks.  Specific skills to communicate with persons of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; operate standard office equipment; perform basic first aid; and prepare and maintain accurate records.

 Abilities to deal with a level of complexity of tasks that require significant discretion, independent action and/or judgment with regards to working with people; and interacting with persons and/or agendas that frequently change.  Specific abilities to adhere to safety practices; meet deadlines and schedules; and work under time constraints.  Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

 Working Environment: The job functions are generally performed in an indoor/outdoor environment requiring the following significant physical abilities: stooping, kneeling, crouching; reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling; sensory speaking, hearing and visual.  Work at heights using a ladder.

 Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements: Some job related experience is a prerequisite.

Licensing, Certification, Testing Requirements: Department of Justice fingerprint clearance (paid for by the  successful candidate); tuberculosis clearance; valid drivers license and evidence of insurability.

Requirements / Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent Current CPR & First Aid and SB 1626 Certificate.

Salary Info

New hires outside of our district will be placed at a Step A.

Military experience may be considered in lieu of job related experience. Must have CPR, 1st Aid. Campus Assistant certification (SB 1626) must be completed within the first twelve months of employment.
