POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Generalist III plays a critical role in ensuring seamless operation and continuous improvement of the organization's IT infrastructure. This senior-level role leads IT initiatives, manages infrastructure across multiple offices, and mentors junior staff. The position requires strategic thinking, project leadership, and advanced technical expertise.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Independently manage IT systems and support infrastructure across multiple offices.
- Design and implement improvements to IT processes (automation, standardization, security).
- Backup and/or contribute to administration of servers, storage, and collaboration systems with little oversight.
- Provide advanced support for engineering software (Autodesk suite, etc.).
- Lead IT projects, delivering results across multiple offices.
- Contributes to strategic IT planning.
- Mentor junior IT staff to build team capabilities, ensure knowledge sharing and establish best practices.
- Participate in vendor negotiations and solution evaluations.
- Monitor system performance and conduct audits for risk mitigation.
- Provides advanced support and contributes to system administration.
- Actively participates in vendor and solution evaluation.
- Designs and implement process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, network management or Cyber Security.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, networking and Cyber Security.
- Experience contributing to IT infrastructure and leading projects.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues across diverse environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive and service-oriented mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Represent the company in a professional matter.
- Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of applications, including MS Office.
- Travel: minimal travel as needed for projects and/or training.
Preferred
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA, or PMP.
- Previous experience supporting engineering or architectural software.
- Experience in professional services or engineering environments.
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
Working Conditions
- Physical Requirements for the Role: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- May require extended periods of time sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
