Job Title: Senior Tableau Developer (Contractor)

Location: Portland Metro Area, OR

Workplace Type: Hybrid 4 days a week in-office 

Duration: November 2025 - May 2026 

Time Commitment: 40-50 hours/week

What You’ll Do

As a 1099 contracted Senior Tableau Developer, you'll provide Tableau development services in coordination with Propeller’s consulting teams and client stakeholders to achieve project outcomes directly with Propeller and its clients to deliver specialized Tableau development services on a project basis. You will operate as an independent professional, collaborating with Propeller’s consulting team and client stakeholders to visualize and analyze data that supports client objectives.  

Drive Business Impact Through Strategic Data & Technology Solutions

  • Work with end-users and technical product teams to develop solution prototypes, while integrating user feedback and participating in collaborative work sessions or workshops 
  • Develop visualizations using Tableau that are visually appealing to technical and non-technical audiences and help drive clear insights into decision-making and management processes 
  • Translate complex data into clear narratives and actionable business recommendations, tailored to diverse audiences 
  • Advise on data governance, quality, and best practices to ensure reliable, high-impact analytics 

Build Stakeholder Relationships

  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to troubleshoot and remediate large datasets and create the foundations necessary for value-added and accurate dashboards

  • Collaborate with Program and Product teams on the management and implementation of product roadmaps through the identification and communication of risks, key decisions, and progress

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Tableau Development (must have a Tableau Portfolio)

  • Experience in data visualization techniques and standard methodologies

  • Proficient in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, JavaScript) and data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI)

  • Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills

  • Experience with waterfall and/or agile project management techniques in complex technology environments

  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams, identify requirements, communicate timely updates, and provide project management support

  • Contractors are expected to maintain appropriate business licenses and insurance in alignment with client and project requirements 

More About This Opportunity

Contractor Requirements: Contractors are expected to maintain appropriate business licenses and insurance in alignment with client and project requirements. 

Location: This engagement is expected to include on-site collaboration with the client, typically 4 days per week, subject to client requirements. Schedule and scope of work will be defined in the statement of work. In some cases, contractors work full-time at their client sites. Exact schedules vary by client engagement. Applicants should currently live in the area where the job is posted.
