Financial Institutions (FIs) are increasingly using Coface’s trade credit insurance and business


intelligence products to support their trade finance business lines. FI clients of Coface include


global and regional banks, factoring companies, private credit lenders and fintechs.


Coface is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our North American Financial


Institutions coverage team, with a focus on growing the current customer base and winning new


clients.


THE ROLE


The Account Manager is uniquely positioned to work with specialized brokers, prospective clients,


and current clients within the Financial Institutions space, focusing on servicing the trade finance


market in the US and Canada. The FI Team works with other teams both in North America and


globally to deliver exceptional service. Members of the team will communicate in a timely,


accurate and clear way, providing a point of contact for any client or broker questions to be


answered immediately.


The Account Manager will also be responsible for supporting new business quotations where the


candidate can apply prior experience in trade credit insurance or trade finance banking to


structure proposals in line with underwriting standards. This person will primarily work on


opportunities in North America, but will also be part of the global Coface FI community.


The Account Manager will also play a key role in enhancing the customer experience of Coface


products by servicing and cross-selling services and products to existing clients. The Account


Manager should have a clear understanding of the current economic climate and how it affects


the market.


The FI Team works with other teams both in North America and globally to deliver exceptional


service. Members of the team will communicate in a timely, accurate and clear way, providing a


point of contact for any client or broker questions to be answered immediately.


Additional Responsibilities will include:


 Manage new business, from structuring, presenting and preparing to negotiating offers.


 Manage select FI client portfolio, including preparing, presenting and negotiating


renewals.


 Create & maintain (along with Coface Legal Team) bespoke policy language within


assigned portfolio.


 Build and maintain relationships with key insurance brokers


 Take ownership in ensuring policy data quality, accuracy and compliance with


requirements and underwriting rules for new business and renewal submissions.


 Ensure accuracy and maintenance of assigned policies and pipeline in CRM system.


 Represent Coface and the FI Team at external broker and/or client meetings, and select


industry conferences or events as applicable.


General Customer Relationship Management


 Build strong customer relationships through regular and proactive communication


through various media and collaborative tools.


 Respond swiftly and appropriately to questions and concerns from clients and their


intermediaries.


 Utilize a consultative approach in determining the most effective coverage for a particular


client need in administering pricing and underwriting tools in preparation for bids and


quotes alongside appropriate commercial and risk colleagues.


 Introduce and promote new Coface offerings through consistent client interaction and


onsite visits.


 Deliver critical data to the client, translating critical information into client needs.


General Portfolio Management


 Act as the central point of contact for the client and/or its intermediaries.


 Prepare and present proposals / renewal offers to deliver renewal revenue and achieve


maximum sales profitability.


 Increase profitability of existing product lines and maximize opportunities for all Coface


offerings.


 Monitor and report on performance.


 Demonstrate all Coface offerings to existing clients to determine those solutions best


suited for their needs.


Market Knowledge


 Establish and ensure credibility with clients by clearly articulating detailed current market


conditions and aligning the Coface value proposition vs our competitors.


 Collaborate with the Coface marketing and underwriting teams to leverage our resources


for campaigns and events.


Communication


 Supply management with verbal and written reports on customer needs, problems,


interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.


 Establish and maintain communication links with other internal departments to identify


all sales opportunities.


 Develop, maintain and lever strong relationships with intermediaries in order to increase


the client retention.


Risk Management and Compliance


 Take joint ownership of the loss ratio on the portfolio with the risk department and deliver


a profitable result to the business.


 Adhere to compliance standards set by Coface and external regulators.


THE CANDIDATE


 Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or


equivalent preferred.


 3-4 years experience in trade credit insurance and/or trade finance lending preferred.


 Previous experience in a multi-cultural environment will be a plus.


 In depth familiarity and knowledge of various insurance policy and trade finance


structures in order to know how best to negotiate between price and risk.


 Strong written and verbal communication skills and professionalism.


 Industry knowledge: to be knowledgeable regarding credit insurance, general credit


practices, adequate understanding of relevant legal topics, business law, insolvency


procedures, and general business documentation requirements.


 Results driven: to keep track of targets and generate results regardless of obstacles within


deadlines and according to expected standards.


 Prompt delivery of data and information: to communicate ideas and information


completely and accurately in writing. To ensure that messages are understood reliably by


others.


Hybrid; 2 days onsite, 3 days remote to one of our local offices in Princeton, NJ/Hunt Valley,


MD/New York, NY
