Position: IT Applications Specialist. Hourly: $23.27 Full-Time + Shift Differential – Negotiable. Location: Gaming Division. Reports to: IT Manager.
In accordance with the Gaming Ordinance, all non-gaming employees whose annual income reaches $50,000 or more will be required to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license
Candidates hired may be eligible for up to a $500 hiring bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Install and optimally configure application software to meet operational needs.
- Ensure high standards of customer service in alignment with North Star Mohican Casino Resort’s policies and procedures.
- Uphold customer service standards in accordance with organizational policies.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record and punctuality.
- Wear an approved departmental uniform and adhere to all established rules and policies.
- Carry a company cell phone for on-call support.
- Provide functional and technical support for application-specific issues, including report printing.
- Prepare and conduct training sessions for application software users.
- Create handout materials, subject to supervisor review.
- Support application-specific backups, including SQL databases.
- Assist in data compilation and evaluation for hardware and software selections.
- Maintain application-related procedure manuals and inventory.
- Document support activities per organizational standards.
- Prepare administrative reports as requested.
- Stay current in the field through ongoing education and review of relevant publications.
- Participate in on-call rotation and adhere to the Casino’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
- Comply with all workplace policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations.
- Duties are subject to change based on organizational needs.
Qualifications & Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical computer-related program preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in a networked environment, or equivalent education.
- Knowledge of a broad range of computer systems, applications, hardware, and networking.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software in a Windows environment.
- Skills in preparing and analyzing operational and technical reports.
- Gaming Industry/Casino experience preferred, experience with Gaming Systems a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with experience in application and network systems software maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical computer-related program preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain a Mohican Nation Gaming License.
- Successfully passed a Criminal Investigation Background Check (CIB) and pre-employment screening.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
- Willingness to pursue self-development and adapt to change.
- Must meet employer's liability insurance eligibility requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Work Conditions:
- Ability to frequently walk, sit, stand, and use hands for handling or feeling.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (30) pounds regularly.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Work is performed in a casino setting with a higher noise level; evening/weekend shifts may be required.
- Work environment requires excellent personal hygiene and is non-smoking and dust-free.
