Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an AmFam office location.
Compensation Minimum: $25.00
Compensation Maximum: $39.00
As a Quantum Computing Intern, you will work closely with 1-2 mentors to implement Proof-of-Concept implementations where quantum computing can have an advantage over traditional techniques. Based on the findings and alignment with the business area, there may be an opportunity to further develop the idea to bring it to Production. You will have the opportunity to implement Quantum algorithms to solve real world business problems and/or conduct quantum computing research, potentially leading to a publication and/or conference proceeding.
Responsibilities:
· Develop an understanding of the organization’s business environments, corporate culture and structure to support work initiatives.
· Open to and support new ideas, systems and procedures. Generate creative ideas and actions in response to changing situations.
· Build and develop quantum computing applications to address business problems.
· Assist with data cleaning and preparation.
· Present project results to management and/or department personnel.
· Stay up to date on current quantum computing trends through research and seminars.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2026 or later.
· Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.
· Major/program must align with internship role.
· Solid understanding of Hybrid Quantum-classical methods (e.g., VQA's) and Quantum Machine learning.
· Experience with Python.
· Experience with SKLearn.
· Experience with Cirq, Qiskit, Tensor Networks for quantum computing, or the like.
· Experience with AWS and/or GCP is helpful.
Work Location:
This role may be considered for a Full-Time in Office or Hybrid work arrangement based on the selected candidate's location. Work locations for this role include Madison, WI; Boston, MA.
