Role Summary:
Verition is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Fixed Income & Macro team. The ideal candidate will have 0–3 years of relevant experience and a strong technical foundation, with a passion for building systems that directly support investment and risk management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, services, and user interfaces that process real-time and historical pricing, risk, and position feeds (from Bloomberg and other vendors).
- Develop and implement a comprehensive portfolio PnL and risk system with drill-down capabilities across instrument, desk, and trader levels.
- Own and manage end-of-day (EOD) PnL reconciliation processes.
- Create dynamic position and exposure views that support both listed and OTC instruments (CUSIP/ISIN).
- Develop playbooks and automated tests for handling vendor outages, symbol/ID changes, and other data integrity challenges.
- Collaborate closely with PMs, risk managers, and operations teams to onboard new products efficiently.
- Maintain concise documentation and operational playbooks to ensure system reliability and transparency.
Qualifications:
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, C#, or Java.
- Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership, prioritize effectively, and deliver under tight timelines.
- Proven aptitude for turning ambiguous trading requirements into scalable, robust systems.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to quickly learn bond math and MBS concepts and articulate technical tradeoffs.
- Designs resilient systems that anticipate and gracefully handle vendor disruptions, symbol changes, delayed data, and evolving schemas.
