Photogrammetry Specialist II:

Experience:

  • 2 YEARS in cartography, mapping, surveying, or related experience.
  • Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis OR related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license at the time of application. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Photogrammetry Specialist III:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in cartography, geography, surveying, or a related discipline

Experience:

  • 4 YEARS in cartography, mapping, surveying, or related experience.
  • Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis OR related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license at the time of application. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist or ASPRS Certified Lidar Technologist preferred for Photogrammetry Specialist III position.

  • Knowledge of Mobile and UAS Lidar systems, software and extraction techniques.

  • Familiarity with any of the following software:

  • Bentley iTwin Capture Modeler

  • TerraSolid

  • Hexagon ImageStation

  • TopoDOT

Competencies:

Photogrammetry Specialist II:

Extensive knowledge of:

  • Cartography

  • Applicable surveying procedures, standards, and instruments

  • The use of personal computers and applicable programs, applications, and systems

  • Photogrammetry and Lidar systems

  • The use of Photogrammetry and Lidar software

  • Communicate effectively

  • Ability to view objects in three dimensions on a 3D monitor

Photogrammetry Specialist III:

  • Analyzing and organizing business and technical data

  • Evaluating products, equipment, and material

  • The use and support of personal computers and peripheral equipment

  • The use of applicable equipment of the trade

  • Planning, directing, coordinating and leading the work of others

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Medium work: Occasionally carry survey tripods and survey instruments up to 25 lbs and the ability to lift 50 lbs above shoulder level, to install a mobile Lidar scanner with a co-worker to mount on top of a state vehicle pickup cap.

  • Balancing - walking, standing, crouching on various surfaces without falling

  • Lifting - raising objects from lower to higher position/horizontally to a different position

  • Climbing - ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, etc.

  • Stooping - bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist

  • Kneeling - bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee(s)

  • Sitting-prolonged periods of time to process and collect mapping data.

  • Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading

  • Subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather but not temperature changes

  • Subject to outside environmental conditions; no effective weather protection

  • Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions

  • Subject to extreme cold and heat; below 32 and above 100 degrees for more than one hour

  • Subject to noise
