The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Data Analytics & Digital Integration (DA&DI) organization is seeking an Experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to act as business/data liaison between BDS production operations and BDS Operations Analytics development team. This individual’s primary responsibility will be to create performance dashboards for BDS Operations as well as to coach/ train all levels of management and support functions how to effectively use the BDS Ops Analytics software suite. The team member's success hinges upon the ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders in each business, understanding existing data, and partnering to develop solutions that will drive business results. This is a remote position and does not require the chosen candidate to work on site.

The mission of the BDS Manufacturing Analytics team is to deliver production system performance insight and vertical transparency (i.e., shop floor to C-suite) to enable efficient operations, better decision-making, and operations planning. The resulting data timeliness, accuracy, and ease of access improves performance awareness and accountability across all organization levels. To date, our software products have been rolled out to all the major BDS assembly programs and the BDS Fabrication Centers of Excellence.

Currently, team members are located throughout the United States in St. Louis, Mesa, and Philadelphia and Seattle. Team member can work virtually, but it is preferred that they are located in one of the above locations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Source production data to create Tableau dashboards to support BDS Operations
  • Ability to create tables, stored procedures, and jobs in SSMS/AWS
  • Assess data needs of various functions/programs
  • Part of a team that onboards a new program and/or rolls out new functionality to existing programs
  • Conduct regular scheduled training sessions to explain functionality and navigation, answer questions, etc
  • Work closely with business partners to ensure the right initiatives are being prioritized
  • Validate and evaluate production data in a timely manner to ensure accuracy
  • Engage in user research and user testing when exploring prototypes
  • Work on miscellaneous projects that reduce cost, optimize production, eliminate waste, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers
  • Receive and incorporate feedback from users to make improvements to existing dashboards

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of BDS manufacturing processes, data systems, and metrics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with data analytics
  • Minimum 3 years creating Tableau dashboards
  • Minimum 3 years using SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience ​
  • Strong engineering background, preferred in fields such as Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Physics, and Data Science
  • Flexible, reliable, self-motivated team player with ability to work independently
  • Exceptional time management, organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of data structure and management
  • Ability to communicate effectively to senior levels of management
  • Palantir Foundry experience
  • Python experience

Summary pay range:

Level 3: $88,400 - $119,600

Level 4: $112,200 - $151,800
