Description
The Joyce Theater Foundation, New York’s leading dance presenting organization, seeks a responsible, motivated, self-starter to take on the role of Studio Operations Associate at The New York Center for Creativity and Dance (NYCC&D). The individual will report to the Studio Operations Manager and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the studios in a day-to-day operation and under the guidance of the Studio Operations Manager will facilitate studio rentals and payments. The NYCC&D is a 7 story, 60,000 square foot building housing 5 dance studios and several monthly artist rental spaces. NYCC&D is open seven days per week, with an expectation of a 20–28-hour work week. The schedule is subject to change depending on the needs of the studios.
Responsibilities
- Dance studio upkeep and maintenance include but not limited to sweeping & mopping of dance floors, replacing and maintaining tape seams on marley floors, assisting renters with PA Systems, keyboards, tables, chairs, etc.
 - Execute opening and closing procedures.
 - Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Studio Operations Manager.
 - Coordinate and execute booking hourly rehearsals, auditions, classes, etc. and maintain the rentals schedule.
 - Ensure that renters have the requested equipment (chairs, barres, tables, etc.) at the time of their rentals.
 - Work with the Studio Operations Manager to collect and process rental inquiries, agreements, and payments for both hourly and monthly rentals.
 - Work with the Studio Operations Manager to maintain the client facing rental calendar.
 - Monthly rentals management: Facilitate communication with all renters via email and WhatsApp as necessary. Collect requests for space improvements.
 - Lead tours for potential renters.
 - Monitor and report supply needs to the Studio Operations Manager
 - Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
 
Requirements
- Customer service experience required
 - Flexible working schedule including nights (up to 10p) and weekends
 - Word Processing, Spreadsheets/Microsoft Office Suite
 - G Suite Platform
 - Project/Event Scheduling/Studio Management Software a plus.
 - Knowledge of sprung and marley dance floors is a plus.
 - Light carpentry skills a plus (floor maintenance)
 - Working knowledge of simple PA systems, a plus.
 - Ability to troubleshoot Wi-Fi a plus.
 - Capable of lifting a minimum of 25-pounds
