The Weld Re-9 School District headquartered in Ault, Colorado has a substitute position at Highland Elementary School through November 14, 2025 (and possibly extended).

Reports To:     Elementary School Principal & Assistant Principal        Days per Year: Varies
Job Location:  Highland Elementary School                                         Hours per Week: 0-35
Revision Date: October 20, 2025                                                          Pay Range: Classified Salary Schedule-Classified Substitute 

Summary: Paraprofessionals are responsible for working in a team environment in the Elementary School assisting the instructors in providing educational experiences and support to students. 

Primary Responsibilities:   

• Provide instructional and personal care assistance to students
• Monitor and evaluate student progress
• Assist students in a general or special education classroom
• Participate as a classified staff member within the building
• Participate in all aspects of students schooling experience
• Responsible for providing a safe educational environment
• Participate in implementing students’ Individual Education Plans and behavior plans
• Monitor students in classrooms, on breaks, during lunch, recess, time outs, on field trips, getting on and off the bus, entering and exiting school, etc.
• Any and all other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with elementary age students preferred, but not required
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred, but not required
• Applicant must demonstrate a great deal of patience and empathy
• Criminal background check

Salary and Benefits:
Pay is $15.25 per hour. For part-time staff, the district provides a PERA retirement plan, and 1 hour of sick leave earned per 30 hours worked, long-term disability, and free cafeteria meals on workdays.
