Amethyst Consulting & Treatment Solutions, PLCC is seeking a detail-oriented Contract Billing Specialist to manage the full spectrum of billing and claims processing for Medicaid, Medicare, and private payors. This role is essential to ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions, resolving denials, monitoring patient eligibility, and optimizing agency revenue through effective billing practices. The specialist will also serve as a point of contact between our agency and external payors.
What You'll Do
- Submit billing claims to Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurers
- Accurately process insurance claims for private and employer-sponsored reimbursement
- Enter claims swiftly and accurately to ensure proper record-keeping and timely payments
- Follow up on denials and coordinate with patients or families as needed
- Set up and manage self-pay arrangements and payment plans
- Post client co-payments promptly
- Handle private pay collections following insurance denial, cancellation, or lapse
- Investigate and resolve client billing issues
- Maintain clear documentation of all payment activities and billing concerns
- Reconcile remittance advice (RA) reports weekly against submitted claims
- Create and deliver weekly billing reports by program, payor, and claim status
- Track revenue projections, authorization issues, and MCO-specific billing details
- Provide updates on claim statuses, denials, and resubmissions on a weekly basis
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on billing and claims experience
- Strong knowledge of claim submission systems and third-party reimbursement practices
- Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance payors
- Proficiency in collecting, organizing, and reporting billing data
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
