Job Summary

Primarily responsible for the management, operation and development of all facets of the risk and claims management information systems, uploading of occurrence information to the Patient Safety Organization (PSO), data analysis and information management reporting to Corporate entities, the Board, patient safety leadership initiatives and external claims reporting requirements. Implements additions and revisions to the information management system in compliance with accrediting, licensure and risk/quality/patient safety/claims requirements of the Corporation. Directs the training and resolves operational problems of all users of the information system within the Corporation. Responsible for handling special requests for report development for presentation to Senior Leadership, management and clinical teams. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in Baptist’s Service First initiatives.

 

Job Responsibilities

Directs the daily management and operation of activities related to the risk management/claims information systems through maintaining effective relationships with individuals collecting or receiving data in order to ensure the accuracy, completeness, integrity and quality of the collected information. Uploads all appropriate data components to Baptist’s PSO.

Develops and maintains the integration of Risk Management and Claims data in order to provide information to guide area of focus for strategic plan for department.

Provides periodic reports to Corporate Counsel, Risk Management, Claims Management, Legal Services and other clinical leaders reflecting relative trends, identifying potential risk management issues and trends involving the Corporation’s claims experience.

Develops and provides periodic reports throughout the Corporation as appropriate.

Responsible to participate in the loss prevention program of Baptist through performing data analysis of unusual occurrences and claims to develop trends for creating a tailored risk services plan and/or dashboard for each entity. 

Develops and implements the appropriate continuing education, training and inservice for all users of the risk management information system throughout the Corporation.

Travels to Corporate entities as required by job responsibilities to effectively meet the needs of professional staff in the how to report events either on paper or electronically.

Specifications

Experience

            3 – 4 years of experience with database management, statistics, analysis and evaluation of data  Healthcare-related experience 

 

 

Education

            Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of knowledge 

 

 

Training

            Advanced knowledge of working with data, software, graphics, spreadsheets, pivot tables and analyzing data to identify trends and patterns as would be acquired through computer course work or 3 – 4 years of practical experience

            Presentation skills and the ability to articulate data analysis to members of the leadership team and clinical professionals   

 

 

Licensure
