English Teacher Long Term Substitute

Position: English Teacher - sub
Building: York Community High School 
Position Type: Substitutes: Daily, Long-Term & Permanent
License Required:  

• IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with proper endorsement required and registered in
  DuPage County.

Tentative Start Date: December 1, 2025 - December 19, 2025

Qualifications: 

• Experience with broadcasting and/or journalism preferred

• Knowledge of best practices as it relates to supporting (all) students’ ability to learn

Description: Candidates should have willingness and/or experience teaching a range of high
school English courses. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of assessment, inquiry
driven instruction, and differentiation practices to address all learners. The candidate must be a
strong collaborator with colleagues as all English teachers work on course teams to implement
instruction and respond to student needs.

Long Term Substitute rate is $250 per day
