Position Summary

WashU's Division of Student Affairs seeks a student engagement professional for the position of Program Coordinator, OISE. The Division of Student Affairs advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success.

Oversees student initiatives in the Office for International Students Engagement (OISE). The Program Coordinator for OISE is an integral part of the Division of Student Affairs in meeting the unique needs of the international undergraduate, graduate, professional and exchange students. They create engagement opportunities in the community both on and off campus through advising, programs and resources. Under the supervision of the director and the office managing international student and scholar compliance, ensures planned activities comply with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to international undergraduate, graduate, professional and exchange students, from, but not limited to, regulations from the Departments of Homeland Security, Labor and State.

This position will also work with the OISE team to understand the needs of international undergraduate, graduate, professional and exchange students and recommend improvements to resolve personal and academic issues. Reporting directly to the Director, the Program Coordinator collaborates daily with the OISE team and frequently with campus partners across the university.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage student outreach initiatives to engage students with resources to connect with campus offices. Conduct educational programs and answer questions from about the student life experience in the U.S.. Research and provide resources and direct support for the international population on issues impacting their daily life, including (but not limited to) housing, cultural experiences, and developing a sense of belonging on campus, and connecting to the local community off campus.
  • Help create and lead programs appropriate to the international undergraduate, graduate, professional and exchange student population and their departments, including orientation, cultural integration and awareness and other topics of interest to the international student population.
  • Collaborate with international student graduate assistants on projects. May supervise student workers.
  • Contribute to program/initiatives, meetings, events, fundraising and stewardship. Collaborate with colleagues across campus and liaise with campus partners to provide support and address issues impacting international undergraduate, graduate, professional and exchange students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Salary Range

    $49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
