General Education Teacher Grades K-6, 2025/26 chez Yav Pem Suab Academy - Preparing for the Future Charter School

Under the direction of the designated administrator, the classroom teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and assessing a comprehensive instructional program that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of all students. Teachers are expected to design and deliver engaging lessons that promote English language development and academic achievement across all core subject areas. The teacher will: • Implement instructional strategies that lead to English language fluency and overall academic success, including for English Learners and students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) • Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that supports student behavior and learning • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to assess student needs and implement interventions • Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and attend related meetings as required • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, learning goals, and areas of concern • Develop lesson plans and prepare instructional materials, including plans for substitute teachers when necessary • Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance, attendance, and other required documentation • Engage in professional development, staff meetings, and site-based activities that promote continuous improvement This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and mission-driven school environment, supporting the success of all students in alignment with UCSC’s educational vision.

Valid California Multiple Subject Credential, University Intern, District Intern, and valid English Language Learner Authorization required.
