SUMMARY: The Senior Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data models, data warehouses, and business intelligence solutions. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translating those requirements into technical solutions that enhance decision-making and business performance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Modeling: Design and develop data models to meet business requirements and strategies.
  • Data Warehousing: Create and maintain data warehouses, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • ETL Processes: Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Collaboration: Work with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • System Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks on systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
  • Documentation: Document all work carried out, including data models, configurations, and setup.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior IT staff to develop their data analysis and data modeling skills.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be able to work well independently or in a team environment
  • Several years of experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, and data modeling.
  • Experience in IT in a business intelligence function or database administrator
  • Experience in managing projects independently preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment while independently identifying priority items for customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio, and SSRS, Power BI, SSIS
  • Microsoft Windows OS
  • Microsoft Server Administration Skills (preferred)
  • SAP Crystal Reports (preferred)
  • Experience with .NET framework or other script/programming languages
  • Microsoft Applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, and Project
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as BI, MCSE, or PMP are a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct supervisory responsibility. 


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree: In Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree: Preferred but not always required. 
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of IT and/or relevant business experience, to include a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a senior BI architect, and three (3) years of experience in a relevant domain, such as BI administrator, BI lead, or BI data engineer.

  • None required


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Employee is regularly required to speak and hear English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employees are required to use computer and other equipment.
  • Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to _25_ pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
