Role Summary

Location: Gastonia, NC (Main Office) | #LI-Onsite

MANN+HUMMEL is seeking a motivated Commodity Buyer to join our Purchasing team in Gastonia, NC. This position supports sourcing activities, contract management, and supplier development, with a focus on building the next generation of procurement leaders. We are looking for a junior-level professional or recent graduate with international exposure who is eager to grow.

Main Tasks

• Execute sourcing strategies and initiatives defined by the Regional Material Group Manager.

• Manage RFQs, price estimations, and supplier communications for projects and serial production.

• Support re-sourcing, dual sourcing, and continuous improvement activities including cost savings initiatives (e.g., BCC, VA/VE).

• Assist with contract negotiations and commercial agreements.

• Collaborate with Project Purchasing to provide timely sourcing data and supplier feedback.

• Maintain commercial and supplier data in SAP, eCONN, and related systems.

• Coordinate technical reviews in collaboration with R&D and Quality teams.

• Support complaint management, supplier meetings, and supplier development activities.

• Provide analytical and reporting support to the Regional Material Group Manager.

Your Profile

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field

• Purchasing experience in an international environment preferred

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Attention to detail and urgency in supporting projects

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial companies a plus

• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is beneficial

• Background in the automotive industry is a plus

• Knowledge of cost-saving initiatives such as BCC or VA/VE is desirable

• Understanding of international sourcing strategies is an advantage

• Strong negotiation and contract management skills are beneficial

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) 

• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
