KEY OBJECTIVE:
This person will focus on data analysis of Chubb’s Cyber insurance products to support quarterly and annual deliverables for cyber product boards and risk committees. The role focuses on the use of Cyber catastrophe modeling to generate risk and exposure updates and provide useful insights to key decision makers, requiring extensive data analysis and model validation. The candidate will also be involved in other enterprise risk responsibilities, such as the preparation of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) reports. These responsibilities require a general understanding of the insurance industry, an understanding of statistical model fundamentals, and critical thinking skills to evaluate risk and modeling approaches.
Success requires a combination of technical skills, sound analysis, and the ability to identify and communicate business implications of results. Projects often require tight completion timelines and close attention to detail. Work products are a combination of scheduled tasks with new project requests, requiring prioritization and communication. Multiple projects may be ongoing at any given time, so the ability to shift focus quickly from one project to another is necessary.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the production of ERM’s quarterly cyber risk accumulation analyses, reports, and presentations to various product boards and risk committees
- Run & analyze models, perform sensitivity testing, and validate results for business purposes
- Use Cyber Catastrophe models to produce probable maximum loss (PML) estimates
- Assist in creation of new models and event scenarios when needed
- Perform reinsurance treaty analyses to support the global reinsurance strategy
- Analyze, validate, and improve data quality throughout the data lifecycle
- Assist in preparation of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) for both internal management and regulatory filings at the Chubb legal entity level; update stress scenarios to reflect risk profile/external environment and suggest enhancements to the ORSA report as appropriate
- Increase automation of exposure analysis process, e.g. increase efficiency of data accumulation process, workflows, and use of querying tools
- Collaboration with offshore analytics team to support risk accumulation analyses
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial, Engineering)
- Interest in Cyber risk and Cyber insurance products
- Good analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications for analyses, results, and work products
- Ability to manage complex processes while completing projects and meeting deadlines
- Detail oriented with good organization skills, an ability to proactively communicate and elevate issues, while maintaining good documentation
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word (including VBA macro skills and knowledge of data arrays and pivot tables)
- Experience with Python/R and SQL/Access is a plus
- Experience in the insurance industry, financial services, or related consulting firm in a quantitative or analytics role is a plus
