Join Family & Children's Center as a Supported Employment & Skills Development Specialist!
 
This position typically starts at the mid wage range which can vary based on education and experience.
 
BASIC PURPOSE:  Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Supported Employment & Skills Development Specialist will deliver services to clients as requested by the referring entity. Services are provided in the community or family home whenever possible, though center-based services are available.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships. Provides individualized supports to assist clients in obtaining their goals.
  2. Provides outreach services as necessary to clients when they appear to disengage from the service. Uses a variety of methods to provide outreach.
  3. Attends and participates in all required staff meetings and communicates individually with team members between meetings in order to coordinate needed services.
  4. Create timely, accurate and detailed notes to effectively document services delivered and to support billing activity and integrated case management.
  5. Works effectively and non-defensively with a variety of personalities, is aware of and sensitive to the cultural diversity of clients, co-workers, and other persons in the performance of job duties.
  6. Completes community job development tailored to client preferences 

Qualifications


ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ENVIRONMENT:

Education, Training & Work Experience: Experience/knowledge working with adults and children with mental health and behavioral struggles preferred.  Maintain annual training hours required by FCC.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Trained in trauma informed care principles, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, skills-based interventions.

Equipment & Applications: Capable with Microsoft Office and Gmail/Calendar. Valid driver's license.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: General office setting conditions, to include work in client homes. Some local travel by car is required. Ability to maintain CPI principles if needed in a crisis situation.
