Job Summary:

 

The Production Master Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to meet customer demand, regulatory requirements, and internal capacity constraints. The scheduler collaborates cross-functionally with procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and regulatory teams to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.

 

Reporting Relationships                                

 

  • This position has no direct reports.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, inventory targets, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of raw materials and packaging components.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to mitigate delays or disruptions. 
  • Create daily production plan for 2 shifts where the plan should be aligned with the master schedule to ensure the target dates are met.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with cGMP and FDA guidelines.
  • Analyze capacity constraints and recommend solutions to optimize throughput.
  • Generate and distribute production planning reports and KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Lead weekly production planning meetings and communicate schedule changes effectively.
  • Support new product launches and technology transfers by integrating timelines into the MPS.
  • Maintain accurate data in our ERP system – SAP.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in scheduling and planning processes.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:                 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.  Experience with generic drug manufacturing and packaging operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP, FDA regulations, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP/ SAP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.

Compensation:


This is an exempt salaried position; the pay range is $85,000 to $115,000 per year.


In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus which aligns to both individual and company performance.
