POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages, plans, and coordinates both the Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs designed to ensure production and release of products that consistently meet customer expectations. This Quality Control portion of this position will focus on the control / quality gate aspect of the quality program, to prevent the flow out of off quality materials to customers. The Quality Assurance portion of this position will focus on the prevention aspect of the quality program.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the development and analysis of specifications and procedures to establish quality and reliability expectancy through use and promotion of standardization, inspection frequency and audits including:
- Maintain and report product conformance to engineering and customer specifications through inspection of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods inventories.
- Participate in new product development to ensure proper quality assurance and control plans can be implemented prior to beginning productions.
- Understanding of formulation histories and ability to work with technical groups for overall improvement.
- Manages, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, services, products and procedures.
- Review production process and materials for conformance to quality standards.
- Report and track any significant deviations from quality standards and determine corrective action.
- Oversees the conformance to specifications and procedures to establish quality and reliability expectancy through use and promotion of standardization and inspection frequency including:
- Maintain and report product conformance to engineering and customer specifications through inspection of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods inventories.
- Continuous review and improvement of standard procedures and test methods to ensure trustworthy results that predict paint performance and eliminates subjectivity.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of progress and productivity reports to inform upper management of current status of work activities and the Quality Assurance program.
- Ability to identify process / procedure improvements to match company directives. Must be able to obtain and track necessary data to show impact.
- Able to observe trends, make reports, initiate, and implement improvement projects based on activity tracking data for continuous quality and efficiency progress.
- Use of computer skills to track, summarize, report, and communicate problems / results effectively to all internal groups and customers / suppliers when necessary (SAP, AS400, Manufacturing Database, MS Excel, MS Word, etc).
- Accomplished in abnormal root cause investigation skills and methodology. Able to apply countermeasures across products and areas for recurrence prevention.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists employees in resolving work problems for any quality issue with internal or external customers.
- Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices. Holds others accountable for consistent adherence to standards.
- Proven project management skills. Must be able drive project from conception through implementation.
- Have excellent working knowledge of all internal groups, understanding key roles and responsibilities within the organization.
- Performs managerial activities including hiring, training, promotions, performance management and sets departmental goals.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relative technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years automotive coatings experience in Technical, Quality or Operations field (Quality Preferred).
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Must have proven success in project management and ability to implement business process improvements affecting multiple departments.
SALARY RANGE:
$89,985.14 to $149,403.00. Compensation for this role is negotiable based on experience and skill set.
