We are currently hiring for the position Import Compliance & Sustainability Coordinator. You will be working for Wood Products Australia (Derrimut) and you will report to Ray Xu, Finance and Supply Chain Director.
 

About the role

The Import Compliance & Sustainability Coordinator ensures end-to-end import compliance with Australian and international legislation, including the Australian Illegal Logging Prohibition Act, PEFC/FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) certification, and alignment with European Union market requirements. The role supports sustainable trade by safeguarding adherence to legal frameworks, due diligence obligations, and cross-border compliance documentation.
This role primarily supports administration and documentation, with ultimate responsibility resting with the Management Director.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure legal compliance with timber regulations in Australia (ILPA) and the EU (EUTR/EDR).

  • Manage due diligence and documentation for timber imports (~1,800 waybills/year).

  • Support PEFC/FSC certification processes and coordinate audits.

  • Maintain supplier records and uphold the Supplier Code of Conduct.

  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and ensure accurate reporting.
     

About you

  • Degree in commerce, supply chain, or equivalent experience in import/distribution.

  • Familiarity with PEFC/FSC certification and timber compliance regulations (ILPA, EU).

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience handling high-volume compliance documentation.

  • Structured, reliable, and quality-focused work style.

  • Excellent English communication skills.
