Job Title:                        Material Handler IV                                

Reports To:                    Group Leader, Mill Receiving

Supervises:                    None                    

Dept.:                              201- Receiving/Stock Hand Mill              

Salary Level:                  Hourly

FSLA Status:                  Non-Exempt

                                                                                  

Purpose:                        

To transport product safely and efficiently to/from storage locations.

 

 

Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

  1. Transports Wipes jumbos and/or split rolls from the Paper Machines; loads and ships Wipes jumbos, split rolls and/or finished product from Converting to SPC/ADC.
  2. Unloads raw materials and stage in proper warehouse locations under the direction of Receiving Area Group Leaders.
  3. Understands the Bar Coding System and is responsible for the correct AS400 data entry of shipped and received materials.
  4. Understands and comply with all Mill Site and Area Safety Rules.
  5. Complies with all safety required programs, Lockout / Tagout, Confined Spaces etc.
  6. Understands all Environmental Procedures and Policies and ensures complete compliance with these policies.
  7. Attends Monthly Safety Meetings, communicating to Receiving Group Leader any unsafe conditions, work practices and/or conditions; seeking action to correct any and all safety concerns.
  8. Maintains good housekeeping of work areas and equipment.
  9. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
  10. This position is additionally responsible as part of the manufacturing flexibility program to cross-train and be fully qualified to work in an at least one other alternate position within the manufacturing operation.

 

 

Education, Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:          

 

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 2 years of previous experience in an industrial environment.
  3. Forklift License required.
  4. Prior Forklift Operation experience required.
  5. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  6. Ability to work and communicate with all other departments, outside vendors and/or truck drivers.
  7. Ability to read and write English and basic math skills
  8. Must have knowledge of Ahlstrom Information Security policies and is for their own part responsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using information systems or information networks.

 

 

 

 

 

Physical Demands:

 

  1. Ability to handle up to 50 lbs.
  2. Ability to work a 12 hour shift schedule (4 on 4 off).
  3. Must constantly be alert.
  4. Ability to work in severely fluctuating temperatures. 
  5. Vision tested minimum requirements is corrected to 20/40 far vision and 20/30 near vision.
  6. Exposure to dust, vibration, chemical, temperature variation and sharp cutting equipment.
  7. Protective equipment is required.
  8. Ability to work carefully around potentially dangerous machinery.
