- Assist in the development of a comprehensive vision and strategic approach to address attendance and achievement gaps grounded in collective responsibility with clear metrics and transparent and accessible progress monitoring.
- Work directly with identified students, teachers and school staff to set up regular check-ins with students to educate students regarding school attendance, determine interventions to improve attendance, monitor, and celebrate on track and/or improved attendance.
- Work directly with identified students to support improved academic outcomes including monitoring and celebrating progress and improvement, providing tutoring or assisting in arranging for tutoring to address gaps due to absenteeism.
- Work directly with families or support providers to educate and inform regarding attendance policies, how families can track student attendance and school performance, and the importance of school attendance on PK-12 success and post-secondary success.
- Contact families/guardians to determine reason for student absence using multiple means of communication.
- Collaborate with school staff to conduct home visits when other means of communication are not successful.
- Work with families to identify potential barriers to student attendance and academic success and collaborate with school staff and community partners to develop strategies or interventions to address barriers.
- Serve as a liaison and advocate for identified students and families during MTSS meetings and attendance meetings (including district Truancy Roundtable).
- Document and organize data and information for each student regarding attendance, student check-ins, meetings, interventions (including tutoring and attendance support), and results of interventions on a weekly basis.
- Identify, implement, and monitor opportunities and programs to bolster parent/guardian participation in school life.
- Work with community partners to assist with various attendance interventions.
- Maintain regular attendance.

SALARY: $22.93/hr |

The Student Success Navigator works closely with a caseload (20-30) of students, their families/guardians, school and district staff and community service providers to improve attendance and school performance through proactive measures. Students are identified based on attendance data and support will be provided over multiple years in order to combat the negative impact of chronic absenteeism. The position reports directly to the principal and works in collaboration with the school counselor, social worker, school behavior support team, teachers, school staff and district Director of Attendance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
