Shift: Monday-Friday (6:30am-3pm)
Hourly Rate: Starting at $24/hr
What You Will Do:
As a Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in the movement and management of materials across our facility. You’ll be responsible for receiving and unloading inbound shipments, loading outbound trucks—including curtain side trailers, flatbeds, and containers—and ensuring inventory is accurately tracked and organized. Operating a sit-down propane forklift (10,000–12,000 lb capacity), you’ll help maintain the flow of goods throughout the warehouse. Experience with SAP is preferred, as you'll be working closely with inventory management systems to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate sit-down propane forklifts to move heavy loads and pallets.
- Load and unload various types of transport vehicles including curtain side trailers, flatbeds, and containers.
- Receive, stage, and organize incoming materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP (preferred) or other systems.
- Support warehouse operations through effective inventory management and material flow.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
Who You Are
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Proven ability to expertly operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Experience with curtain side trailers, flatbeds, and container loading/unloading.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory management systems.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and occupational health standards.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A collaborative spirit and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.

What It's Like At Metrie
- Safety. Your safety is important to us. We want you to leave the day, the same way you came in. Continuous training with all warehouse personnel for both Safety and Operational excellence. Measure critical safety metrics on a monthly basis, identify potential issues and take appropriate actions.
- Surroundings. You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, forklifts, and mobile carts.
- Activity. Some activities may require operating machinery, constant walking, repetitive lifting, and using a handheld scanner.
- Temperature. Warehouse in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Noise level. Can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
- Dress code. Relaxed, with a few requirements regarding PPE. Metrie provides safety shoes, high visibility shirts or vests, eye protection and gloves.
