QA Automation Engineer chez Morningstar

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, QA analysts) to understand requirements and define test strategies.
• Automate functional, regression, integration, and performance tests.
• Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects with detailed documentation.
• Continuously improve test automation processes, frameworks, and best practices.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for faster and reliable releases.
• Monitor test execution, debug failures, and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Maintain proper test documentation and contribute to QA knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 2–5 years of experience in test automation and QA engineering.
• Strong programming skills in at least one language (Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, etc.).
• Good understanding of software testing principles (functional, regression, performance, API, UI).
• Experience with API automation (Postman, RestAssured, Karate, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in testing cloud-based applications (AWS).
• Knowledge of BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
