Job Title: School Administrative Assistant

Position Overview:

The School Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school by managing student attendance, maintaining accurate records in the school’s data platform (Alma), and serving as a key point of contact for families and staff. Reporting to the Assistant Principal and Building Principal, the Administrative Assistant helps ensure an efficient, welcoming, and organized front office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage daily student attendance
   

• Communicate student absences to parents/guardians in a timely and professional manner
   

• Enter and update student data and attendance records in Alma (school’s online platform)
   

• Provide administrative support to school leadership, including the Assistant Principal and Building Principal
   

• Assist in the general operations of the school through front office duties (e.g., greeting visitors, answering phones, handling inquiries)
   

• Collaborate with other administrative assistants to ensure coordinated office practices and support
   

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive student and school information
   

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the school
   

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Prior experience in an administrative or school office setting preferred
   

• Proficiency with data entry and computer systems; experience with Alma is a plus
   

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
   

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
   

• A positive, welcoming attitude and the ability to work well with students, staff, and families
   

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
   

• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality
