Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, the Business Development Manager supports the mission and vision of Children’s Hope Alliance by executing components of growth initiatives and projects without utilizing resources from established programs. The scope includes a range of activities that will entail cross-departmental collaboration including: providing input to and executing components of project plans, assisting with completing requests for proposals, drafting policies and procedures for new programs, monitoring referral trends and program outcomes as they relate to business development, monitoring development of stakeholder relationships, participating in internal and external stakeholder meetings for networking and discovery, hiring and onboarding of staff, and the planful transitioning of newly implemented programs to the Chief Clinical Programs Officer.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of the agency Strategic Plan and take a leading role in associated key initiatives and projects.
- Assist with the cultivation of existing and new program referral relationships and stakeholders.
- Lead the agency’s adoption and use of the Client Relationship Management (CRM) application in Salesforce for ongoing monitoring and tracking of external stakeholder relationships, routine and targeted meetings.
- Partner with Clinical Programs, Development, Marketing and Communications to design, support and/or directly assist with activities and events in support of business development targets.
- Partner with the Project Manager to establish project plans for securing and implementing business development and growth opportunities including but not limited to the following: activity and resource planning, organizing and motivating teams, balancing project constraints, ongoing process improvement, and risk management.
- Use project plans for the initial implementation, operationalization, and eventual transition of management to Clinical Programs.
- Partner with HR and Implementation and Staff Engagement in job posting, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of new hires for initial implementation of new, expanded or acquired growth.
- Partner and collaborate with operations departments, such as but not limited to, compliance, contracts, licensing and credentialing, as needed.
- Participate in cross-department teams and activities related to due diligence activities as assigned.
- Participate in the writing of, responses to grants or requests for proposals (RFPs) for business development opportunities.
- Participate in the development of proposals for new or alternative services or supports to public and commercial pre-paid health plans (PHPs).
- Use business intelligence dashboards to trend performance indicators and program outcomes related to agency business development and growth.
- Capture the agency growth success stories, narrative, and value-based proposition.
- Assist in creation of agency’s business growth strategies, practices, policies, and procedures with attention to scalability and replication.

Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Business Development, or related field with at least 3 years of experience with program management or development in a behavioral health field preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Business Development, or related field with at least 5 years of experience with program management or development in a behavioral health field.
- Experience partnering with social services, community resource agencies, school systems and/or juvenile justice.
- Experience with managed care organizations and commercial (private and public) payers.
- North Carolina Medicaid experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and in virtual meeting applications (Teams, Zoom, Webex). Experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Results-oriented individual who demonstrates the ability to partner with people at all levels of the organization, develops relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and employs keen judgment.

- Employee must be able to operate a vehicle for job duties, and keep a valid NC drivers license with insurance.
- The work environment will contain slight to moderate office-related noises. The employee is not exposed to extreme weather conditions, toxic fumes, or airborne particles.
- The employee must occasionally travel to different locations in the course of work.
