REPORTS TO:  Senior Vice President, Information Technology & Project Management

LOCATION: Corporate        

COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this position is expected to be $105,000-$115,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.     

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

SCHEDULE:    Monday through Friday 8:30am- 5:00pm


Position Summary

The Manager, Project Managementis responsible for leading the Credit Union’s Project Management Department to ensure the effective planning, execution, and governance of all approved projects. This role establishes and maintains project management standards and practices, delivers transparent reporting, and supports a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The manager serves as a bridge between project execution and executive leadership, helping projects align with strategic goals while maintaining strict adherence to project governance. 

 

Essential Responsibilities 

Project Management Leadership

  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting of the organization’s approved project portfolio.
  • Monitor project performance with emphasis on scope, timeline, and task completion. Specifically, ensuring that the project team understands the timeline impacts of their task deadlines. 
  • Maintain and continuously refine project management standards, processes, and methodologies to ensure consistent, disciplined delivery.
  • Serve as a neutral facilitator, focusing on process and delivery rather than operational or technical decision-making.
  • Actively support projects by attending vendor project meetings and internal working sessions as needed.
  • Work with Project Managers to:
    • Partner with project champions and stakeholders to develop agendas, scopes, and project materials.
    • Actively support projects by attending vendor project meetings and internal working sessions when project timelines are in jeopardy.
    • Ensure clear and timely communication through templates, dashboards, and reporting tools to keep stakeholders and executives informed.
  • Lead general project meetings (not working sessions) to review project task lists, agendas, and scopes.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across all projects.
  • Own project governance by ensuring all approved projects comply with internal policies, procedures, and required deliverables. Pause or stop projects when governance procedures or required deliverables are not met (e.g., incomplete risk assessments).
  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, budget adherence, and post-implementation benefits realization (when a project management software is implemented).
  • Conduct lessons-learned sessions and process reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the selection and effective use of enterprise project management software and reporting dashboards.
  • Support collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Zoom, Outlook and/or other PM software's are leveraged to support efficient project communication and documentation.
  • Hire, coach, and develop project managers or coordinators, establishing departmental goals and career paths.
  • Mentor team members to develop professional growth and a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to plan long-term resource needs and department strategy.

 

 

Reporting & Performance Analytics

  • Deliver transparent, actionable reporting and dashboards for executives, managers, and stakeholders.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, and organizational capacity to optimize resource allocation.
  • Provide project management data to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Maintain accountability and traceability across the entire project portfolio.
  • Prepare senior leadership and board-level presentations to communicate portfolio health and outcomes.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Stay current with trends, requirements, and best practices within areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in credit union committees, initiatives, and special assignments as requested.
  • Represent the Project Management team in internal and external meetings, acting as a liaison as needed. 
  • Establish and maintain professional networks within the industry and the communities served by the credit union to enhance knowledge and reputation.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management and 3 years experience, or a related field; or equivalent 5+ years of progressive experience in project management. 
  • At least 2 years of leadership/management experience.

Training and Compliance Requirements

Subject to the compliance requirements of all related federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti Money Laundering (AML), Information Security and Privacy policies and procedures. Employees complete annual BSA, AML, Information Security, Privacy, and other job-related training requirements as established by The Summit and within deadlines.
