Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
The Senior Indirect Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of indirect goods and services, with a strong focus on capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects and a wide range of corporate services. These include IT services and software, HR and recruitment services, financial and professional advisory services, facilities management, and other business-critical service contracts. The role ensures effective sourcing strategies that deliver cost efficiency, risk management, and supplier innovation in support of the company’s operations and long-term growth in the industrial battery manufacturing sector.
Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management
- Develop procurement strategies for CAPEX, IT services (software, hardware, licenses, IT infrastructure, digital solutions), HR services (training, recruitment, payroll, mobility), financial services (audit, tax, insurance, leasing), and other professional services (consulting, legal, advisory).
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive agreements while ensuring quality, compliance, and sustainability objectives are met.
- Manage supplier relationships
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes (RFI/RFP, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and PO management).
- Partner with engineering, IT, finance, HR, and legal stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into effective procurement solutions.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, financial guidelines, and legal/regulatory frameworks.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a trusted partner to internal teams (engineering, IT, HR, finance, legal, operations) by aligning procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Actively contribute to global procurement initiatives and support process harmonization.
- Drive change management and promote procurement best practices across the organization.
- Provide cost estimates to support budgeting and financial planning.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
- Experience:
- 6–8 years of procurement experience with demonstrated expertise in services and CAPEX procurement within an industrial/manufacturing context. Proven experience managing categories such as IT, HR, financial, or professional services is required.
- Knowledge of CAPEX and professional services contracting
- Proven experience in use of SAP system
- Skills:
- Fluency in German & English (both verbal & written) is a must, Greek will be considered as an asset
- Excellent command of MS Office
- Strong negotiation skills
- Financial and analytical acumen with focus on TCO and cost control
