Your impact  

 

Reporting to the General Manager, Tanami Operations, in the newly created position of Manager, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) you will oversee the planning, management and coordination of site-wide NPI services (i.e. warehousing and logistics, aerodrome, transport, camp accommodation, facilities management, etc) to ensure compliance, efficiency and highest standards of service delivery in line with Tanami operational objectives and with a key focus on employee and contractor workforce well-being.   

 

As part of our team you will

 

  • Take a visible site leadership role and bring an uncompromising commitment to safety, health and well-being
  • Develop and deliver NPI and shared services plans including budget management
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop plans to manage or mitigate identified risk/s
  • Manage NPI resources (i.e. human resources, food programs, warehouse supplies, equipment, transport, logistics etc)
  • Delivery NPI and shared services within mining industry best practice standards
  • Lead, coach and mentor the NPI service delivery team, manage on-site service provider relationships and oversee on-site contractor workers

 

Prerequisites for your success in the role

 

  • Degree qualification in a related field i.e. Supply Chain, Logistics, Facilities Management
  • Extensive experience in a similar NPI site-based leadership role for a FIFO mine operation
  • Demonstrated management capability of site-based warehousing and logistics, camp and facilities, aerodrome activity, workforce mobilisation, etc
  • Proven team leadership with an emphasis on safety, health and well-being
  • Knowledge of mining industry best practice including health and safety and food hygiene
  • Understanding of relevant Federal and State regulations and legislations
  • Solid financial acumen with ability for efficient budget planning and allocation
  • Competent understanding of cost management and financial principles in mining
  • Proficient user of relevant software including MS Office, SAP etc
  • Full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia  

 

Your work environment

 

Newmont has fully owned and operated the Tanami mine since 2002. The mine operates in the remote Tanami Desert of Australia. The mine and plant are located on Aboriginal freehold land that is owned by the Warlpiri people and managed on their behalf by the Central Desert Aboriginal Lands Trust. Tanami is a fly-in-fly-out operation in one of Australia’s most remote locations. Tanami is 270 km from its closest neighbours, the remote Aboriginal community of Yuendumu.

 

This permanent position will be based on-site at the Tanami Mine Operation in the remote Northern Territory working on a fly in, fly out flexible roster (4:3:8:6) from Perth, Darwin, Brisbane or Alice Springs. 

 

Full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential.
