About the Role
The Senior BIM Modeller is responsible for the detailed design of engineering systems and creation of 3D models, focusing on specific discipline systems, project interdisciplinary coordination and data management. Their role requires a high level of technical experience in their primary discipline. This position also contributes to the advancement of digital engineering capabilities and supports continuous improvement in the application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and related technologies. Collaborate with engineers and project teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.
· Lead the preparation of detailed systems drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
· Develop accurate and detailed 3D models for MEI, Utilities Electrical or Civil/Structural systems, inclusive of model setup and metadata in accordance with relevant standards and the DEMP.
· Provide technical guidance, leadership and mentorship to junior drafters, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
· Implement the digital strategy in models as directed by the DE/BIM Leads to comply with the DE DEMP and BIM requirements of the project
· Support the implementation of BIM processes and project standards.
· Assist in the development and management of CAD Management Plan and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
· Ensure the digital outputs produced meet the necessary quality control standards, including accuracy, data consistency, and compliance with client, codes, relevant standards and regulatory requirements for sharing and submissions.
· Manage digital validation and checking processes.
About You
· 5+ years’ experience in detail modelling and drafting, coordination, documentation with a solid technical understanding of relevant disciplines for Major Projects, Transport, or Infrastructure projects.
· Familiarity with technical discipline standards including ISO19650 standards is preferred.
· Expert skills using various DE authoring software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, etc) and other interfacing software packages preferred (such as Automation Python C# Dynamo, MS Tools, Primavera P6, etc).
· High level of experience of design principals and drafting standards in a similar industry.
· Extensive experience of design and constructability principles for MEI systems.
· Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
