Site Reliability Engineer III – Operations and Tooling Efficiency
Forcepoint is seeking a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to join Forcepoint’s Site Reliability Engineering organization, with a strong focus on achieving operational efficiency through automation and building home-grown solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is passionate about problem solving, and is willing to work across a diverse set of stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and operate critical applications required for daily operations of the SRE function such as HashiCorp Vault, Opsgenie, Atlassian StatusPage etc.
Ensure that the critical applications are performing optimally, and are adhering to security best practices.
Own and streamline enterprise-wide certificate management program, ensuring internal and external certificates are rotated using automation, where possible.
Build automation pipelines to streamline interactions across various operational tools.
Oversee directory services, ensuring automated processes for user on-boarding and off-boarding.
Design and implement automated solutions to eliminate toil, and introduce operational efficiency.
Develop self-healing mechanisms and proactive monitoring for critical systems.
Collaborate with Engineering, Development and other key functions, such as Customer Success, to design in-house solutions and tooling.
Participate in incident response and postmortem processes, ensuring continuous improvement.
Maintain and enhance OpenLDAP infrastructure for authentication and authorization.
Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to ensure directory services meet regulatory requirements.
Elevate operational maturity, mentor other SRE’s and be focused on continual improvement in the tolling landscape.
Required Qualifications:
7+ Hands-on experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with SaaS platforms, such Vault, JSM, Statuspage, Sectigo, or similar solution is beneficial
Proficiency in automation frameworks and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go).
Good understanding of OpenLDAP, including schema design, ACLs, and replication.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Experience with RBAC/ABAC models and identity federation.
Knowledge of PKI and certificate lifecycle management.
Strong exposure to source code management software and API automation
Exposure to incident management frameworks and SRE best practices.
Service availability-oriented mindset with a pro-active approach to problem solving.
Possesses excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communications skills
Analytical and logical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual/re-active workload
Strong experience in administration/build/management of Linux systems, related certification is a plus.
