About the Role:
The Armed Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of clients, their property, and personnel within the business services sector in Boca Raton. This position requires vigilant monitoring of premises, proactive identification of potential security threats, and swift, decisive action to mitigate risks. The officer will be responsible for enforcing company policies and legal regulations while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor. Through regular patrols, surveillance, and incident reporting, the officer ensures a secure environment that supports uninterrupted business operations. Ultimately, the role demands a high level of responsibility, integrity, and readiness to respond effectively to emergencies or security breaches.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued armed security officer license or certification as required by Florida law.
- Completion of required firearms training and certification.
- Minimum of 18 years of age with a clean criminal background check.
- Ability to pass drug screening and physical fitness assessments.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and legal regulations related to armed security.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an armed security officer or in law enforcement.
- Certification in CPR, first aid, and emergency medical response.
- Familiarity with advanced surveillance technology and access control systems.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Additional training in risk assessment and crisis management.
- Must obtain D and G License
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and random patrols of assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and perform access control duties to ensure only authorized personnel enter secure areas.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including providing first aid or coordinating with law enforcement when necessary.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on daily activities, incidents, and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Maintain a visible presence to provide a sense of security and assist employees, visitors, and clients with security-related inquiries or concerns.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Armed Security Officer to effectively monitor and secure the premises, ensuring rapid identification and response to potential threats. Proficiency in firearms handling and safety is essential for maintaining control and protecting people and property. Strong observational and reporting skills are used daily to document incidents accurately and communicate with management and law enforcement. Preferred skills such as advanced surveillance knowledge and emergency medical training enhance the officer's ability to manage complex situations and provide comprehensive security services. Effective communication and conflict resolution skills are critical for interacting professionally with clients, visitors, and team members, fostering a safe and cooperative environment.
