The Role:
The Quality Manager provides proactive leadership for all food safety and quality assurance functions and Sanitation program within the facility. This position is accountable for ensuring that all products meet ACH Food Companies’ quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, while driving a culture of continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence.
The role leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems that align with SQF, FSMA, FDA, and company standards. As a member of the site leadership team, this individual partners cross-functionally to build a world-class operation where food safety and quality are foundational to business success.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of all quality and food safety systems in alignment with corporate, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Own and maintain site compliance to SQF current Edition, FSMA (Preventive Controls and Traceability), HACCP, and internal Smart Food Safety programs.
- Ensure product quality and consistency through effective management of raw material, in-process, and finished goods testing, utilizing statistical process control and data-driven decision-making.
- Manage all product release, hold, and traceability systems. Lead product recall simulations and maintain 100% audit readiness.
- Review consumer feedback and complaint trends to drive root cause analysis, preventive actions, and systemic improvements.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to enhance process capability, reduce defects, and strengthen GMP and sanitation performance.
- Oversee and verify environmental monitoring, allergen control, calibration, and sanitation programs.
- Develop and maintain incoming material specifications and supplier quality expectations in collaboration with Corporate QA.
- Maintain ownership of the plant’s Food Safety and Food Defense Plans, including annual validation and verification.
- Lead the facility internal audit process and drive closure of all corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide training, coaching, and development to quality and plant personnel to reinforce quality ownership across all levels.
- Champion digital quality initiatives and leverage systems such as SAP, SMS (Smart Food Safety, Tracegains), or other electronic quality management systems for documentation, trending, and compliance reporting.
- Partner with plant leadership to establish KPIs and regularly report performance metrics related to food safety, quality, and consumer experience.
- Serve as the backup SQF Practitioner and PCQI when needed.
- Perform additional duties and leadership responsibilities as assigned to support business needs
- Develops and provides education and direction to operating personnel as to quality standards and practices.
- Directs and audits all sanitation practices and procedures. Develops new or modified practices and provides necessary training and communications. Conducts regular audits of sanitation practices with operations management
- Lead, supports and maintains the plant Food Safety & Security policies and procedures. The backup for this position’s responsibility is the quality coordinator.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree with major in Food Sciences, Chemistry, or related field is required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in a food or beverage quality environment including a minimum of 3 years direct supervisory experience.
- PC literate with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
.MS Access design experience is preferred. - Experience with ERP (SAP / Infor 3M) Quality and Quality Specification Systems preferred.
- CSSGB preferred.
- HACCP Certification required.
- SQF Practitioner and PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Salary Range:
- Starting Salary Range: $119,800-$151,620. This includes the starting base pay range. Exact compensation will vary based on candidates' qualifications, job related knowledge and experience and specific location.
- Variable Pay is included in compensation package yet not part of base salary range.
