The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Analyst collects, analyzes, defines, documents, and categorizes Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics for decision-makers.
Primary Objectives
- Collaborate with business stakeholders including end users, managers, and leadership to thoroughly document BI requirements consistent with departmental standards and in alignment with business objectives.
- Translate business needs into structured specifications, user stories, and mock-ups that support BI development using tools such as Power BI and enterprise data models.
- Facilitate and document design and discovery sessions to clarify reporting needs and support solution execution.
- Act as a liaison with product owners, project managers, developers, and team members to ensure projects and work products are delivered on-time and on-budget.
- Engage with business users to elicit, define, and refine BI requirements using standard documentation formats.
- Develop and maintain user stories and features within Agile frameworks, including acceptance criteria and traceability to business objectives.
- Recommend enhancements to reporting infrastructure, including new measures in existing models, new dimensions, and data model adjustments.
- Review, analyze, and interpret data from multiple internal and external sources to support requirement definition.
- Apply technical knowledge to support advanced BI capabilities, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
- Create mock-ups to illustrate reporting concepts and facilitate stakeholder alignment.
- Document data dictionaries and reporting standards to promote data literacy and consistency.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of BI deliverables to validate alignment with defined requirements.
- Provide support to BI developers and IT teams during development and deployment phases.
- Contribute to the evolution and adherence of BI standards, governance, and best practices.
- Support change management efforts related to BI tools and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in directly-related field required
- 5+ years' experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy roles required
- 2+ years' experience defining BI/reporting requirements and working with BI tools such as Power BI required
- Strong understanding of BI concepts and terminology including KPIs, measures, dimensions, hierarchies, and data warehousing.
- Proficiency with current BI tools including, but not limited to, SAP Business Objects, Power Pivot, Power BI, Snowflake, or Tableau.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational databases and data modeling.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, requirement elicitation, and documentation.
- Ability to analyze, understand, and adhere to established patterns in existing BI implementations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools for managing user stories and features.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, understand, and interpret data from both internal and client perspective.
- Ability to recognize and define problems, understand business and system processes, collect data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
Zone 1: $110,000 - $135,000
