AWS Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Lead – AWS Engineer to lead our Engineering team. This role combines Sr. technical expertise in AWS with leadership responsibilities to guide a team of 7x24 global AWS and App Platform Engineers. The role does not require and human resource responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of AWS and App Platform engineers, providing a global operations support service with a focus on strong collaboration, service excellence, and value.
- Operations support of a scalable, secure AWS architecture environment.
- Oversee cloud operations, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with security and Governance standards.
- Automating tasks via python scripting is vitally important to this organization – expertise required.
- Test/ validate AWS environments for business requirements and integration with other providers.
- Onboard applications, develop end to end application integration and deployment process documents.
- Provide 7x24 migration and integration support for applications, cloud providers, and/or other platforms.
- Risk and vulnerability remediation (patching).
- Create/ maintain standards documentation (AWS/App)
- Administer security scheme for both internal and customer access of AWS systems including account management and SAML.
- Refine, maintain, develop strategy for performance monitoring, automation & selfheal, and reporting.
- Maintain/ develop capacity management and planning reports, dashboards, etc.
- Maintain/ Develop platform reporting metrics.
- Provide continuous Integration, Deployment, and Infrastructure support/ implementation for cloud-based services.
- Act as an escalation point for cloud-related incidents and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with Customer DevOps, Security, and Application teams.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and training.
- Service Management – Mange to customer defines SLA’s for repair cases (MTTR), service requests, change/ deployment success.
- Cloud Velocity, handle account administration (AMD), support security control/ compliance, and controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or equivalent years of experience in Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of AWS cloud engineering experience.
- 2+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.).
- Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Cloud Velocity (Lifecycle, Account creation using existing modules, IAM policies)
- High level understanding of application architecture
- Strong working knowledge of AWS CloudFormation and YAML/JSON framework.
- Strong working knowledge AWS networking
- Experience with Lambda, Python, shell scripting, or Boto3 Library
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communicator, participate in community discussions
- A decision maker
Accreditation / Certification / Licenses:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Strongly desired
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Strongly desired
- Experience with multi-account AWS environments and Control Tower.
- Familiarity with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards.
