The Role
We are building a multi-product ecosystem – live auctions, real time buying, streaming and more – and are looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer to lead efforts in building greenfield products and setting the technical foundations for future work.
As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you will be a key player in shaping the infrastructure and operations strategy of the company. You will be responsible for leading initiatives to optimize systems, processes, and tools that support scalable and reliable applications.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Automation: Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar tools. Ensure efficient, automated testing and reliable release processes.
- Kubernetes Administration: Manage, administer, and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS or GKE) for container orchestration and scalability.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, GCP), ensuring best practices in scalability, cost management, performance, and security.
- Monitoring & Logging: Implement and maintain observability solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
- Collaboration: Partner with development, QA, and product teams to design and implement solutions that improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
- Security Best Practices: Integrate security into infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments, ensuring compliance and data protection.
- Incident Management: Serve as a key responder for system outages and performance issues. Lead root cause analysis and drive long-term remediation.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and practices to improve DevOps workflows and system resilience.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Promote engineering excellence, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
- 8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a related role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expertise in Kubernetes administration (EKS or GKE).
- Strong experience managing public cloud providers (AWS, GCP) in multi-account and multi-org setups.
- Hands-on experience with GitOps practices and tools (ArgoCD, FluxCD).
- Experience with designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt).
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Strong skills in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Go, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of version control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket).
- Expertise in networking and load balancing.
- Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern software development workflows.
The salary range for this position is $172,000 - $258,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
