The Director, SAP Business Transformation is a director level position who will lead and manage the entire SAP redesign and implementation project, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business requirements, while also managing stakeholders and teams. This person will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the SAP and redesign and implementation initiatives, from planning and scoping, to execution and go-live
Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate project status, manage expectations, and engage with various stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, and external vendors
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, including business and IT process owners, SAP consultants, developers, and business analysts, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to succeed
Budget Management: Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects stay within allocated resources
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project timelines or deliverables
Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement SAP transformation strategies that align with business objectives
Change Management: Manage organizational change associated with the SAP redesign and implementation initiative, ensuring user adoption and buy-in
Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of business processes and SAP systems, modules, and technologies
Compliance: Ensure SAP redesign and implementation initiative complies with industry regulations and standards
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Ten (10) to 12 years of related work experience managing business and IT initiatives, manufacturing projects in life sciences, engineering or operations. Experience with SAP is highly desirable
Seven to ten years of project or program management experience
BS or higher degree
Self-motivated, ambitious with long-term career goals
Experience in managing operations projects and leading cross-functional teams to achieve aggressive goals in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, start-up experience is a plus
Experience in managing development projects to support lab operations is a plus
Assertiveness to tactfully address concerns or conflicts openly within core and extended teams
Ability to deal with uncertainty in a constructive manner and generate options for moving forward
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to highlight issues to senior leaders, drive consensus and forge solutions, stays focused and on-point
Knowledge of various project management tools and applications
Limited travel may be required
