About the Role:
The Molding Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the molding department within a manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The supervisor will lead and coordinate a team of molding operators, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize workflow and resolve any operational issues. They will also monitor equipment performance, implement process improvements, and enforce compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Molding Shift Supervisor ensures smooth shift operations that contribute to the overall productivity and success of the manufacturing process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role within molding or related production processes.
- Strong understanding of molding equipment, materials, and production workflows.
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards applicable to manufacturing.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, industrial technology, or related field.
- Experience with injection molding or compression molding processes.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) and production tracking software.
- Strong leadership training or certification.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of molding operators during assigned shifts to meet production goals.
- Monitor molding equipment and processes to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and quality standards in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to foster skill development and maintain high performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot production issues promptly, collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and communicate effectively with management and other departments.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize molding processes and reduce waste.
