JOB SUMMARY:
The Head Teller I is responsible for the total cash program and the implementation of the cash policy of the credit union ensuring that the member’s transactions are handled in the most efficient, accurate manner. This individual is responsible for supervising the teller staff. This person has access to the total operating cash fund and is responsible for verifying and maintaining all cash records.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Analyze cash needs and make certain that sufficient cash is available.
2. Replenish cash to tellers; maintain and balance cash dispensers (where applicable), as needed.
3. Maintain plastic cards, inventories and reconcile to monthly reports as needed.
4. Supervise and schedule work of tellers on a regular basis.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Maintain daily schedule for teller staff (i.e. lunch hours, vacation, etc.) to assure branch is staffed appropriately.
- Monitor, Edit, and Approve eTIME timecards
- Complete performance reviews with assistance from management, etc.
5. Maintain individual cash box.
6. Assist all tellers in securing relevant information to effectively evaluate the validity of items presented at the teller line.
7. Have knowledge of all computer transactions, head teller manual, teller manual and be capable of performing each transaction for members.
8. Set the example for others by being courteous at all times and put forth a concentrated effort to make eye contact, smile, and greet members in a friendly, professional manner.
9. Utilize knowledge of products and services to efficiently cross-sell to our membership.
10. Handle the complex accounts and problems of credit union members with total accuracy and professionalism.
11. Work various departmental reports on a timely basis.
12. Ensure that checks are scanned in a timely manner.
13. Ensure that branch is balanced at the end of the day.
14. Reinforce Credit Union Security policies and branch procedures to the tellers.
15. Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.
16. All other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
The Head Teller I must have a high school education. This individual must be an experienced teller (6 Months minimum) who has demonstrated the ability to handle large sums of money in a fast and accurate manner. Individual must possess a good work ethic in order to serve in a leadership role. Individual must have a complete knowledge of the Credit Union's Cash Policy and Security Program. They should also be knowledgeable about all Credit Union products and services, and be able to provide members with information on interest rates, savings accounts, certificates, or any service offered at the Credit Union. Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel is desired. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Candidate must be available Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-6pm.
