Travel: 40% as needed.

As part of our ongoing growth and commitment to excellence, we are seeking a Director of Construction Operations to oversee and drive the success of our construction projects and facility management services. This leadership role requires a strategic, revenue-generating mindset and a demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage internal teams and General Contractors (GCs), and ensure the successful execution of client projects.

The Director of Construction Operations will play a critical role in ensuring that AlffCo consistently delivers high-quality results that exceed expectations, contributes to revenue growth, and upholds the company's reputation for excellence and above.
Essential Functions of the Role:
· Leadership & Oversight: Lead and manage internal employees and teams, General Contractors, and subcontractors, providing direction and ensuring projects are delivered successfully within established timelines and budgets.
· Trades Integration: Leverage deep knowledge of multiple trades, such as electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, to guide project execution and maintain exceptional quality standards.
· Comprehensive Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of large-scale commercial construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination from planning through completion.
· Strategic Reporting: Serve as a key liaison with the COO, delivering high-level updates on project progress, addressing challenges, and presenting strategic solutions.
· Team Leadership: Build and lead diverse project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability across all levels of the organization.
· Innovation & Strategy: Drive strategic planning for construction activities, incorporating innovative approaches to optimize processes and outcomes.
· Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations to ensure all construction activities exceed organization's standards.
· Risk Management: Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks associated with construction projects to ensure successful project outcomes.
· Client Relations: Maintain continuous proactive communication with clients, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term relationships. This includes before, during, and after projects.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with local/state/federal legal regulations, risk management, and safety standards.
Other Responsibilities
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
· Adhering to AlffCo values and professionalism
· Weekends/nights may be required.
· Ability to travel as required to various locations.

Requirements
Experience Requirements:
· Minimum of 10+ years in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large commercial projects.
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Finance:
· Financial construction management experience with direct P&L oversight or departmental budget control.
· Pricing, bidding, and job costing experience.
Leadership Skills:
· Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing contractors, and overseeing trades professionals to achieve project objectives.
· Must have knowledge and experience in leadership and team development, with the ability to build departments and teams from ground up.
Technical Proficiency:
· Expertise in construction methods, materials, and technologies, with proficiency in construction management software.
Trades Knowledge:
· Must have a proven track record of demonstrated technical construction experience.
· Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in multiple trades, including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, with the expertise to oversee service repairs and maintenance across these disciplines.
Problem-solving and Analytical Skills:
· Strong troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
· Analytical mindset to assess work orders and determine the best course of action for completing tasks.
Time Management and Organization:
· Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
· Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail above and beyond expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial construction, facility maintenance, or the service industry.
- Familiarity with project management principles.
- Demonstrated success in handling high-volume work orders and achieving revenue targets in a service-based role.
- OSHA Certification
Computer Skills:
- Construction Management Software: Proficiency with platforms such as Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar tools for project planning, document management, and team collaboration.
- Scheduling Software: Experience with project scheduling tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar.
- Data Analysis and Reporting Tools: Competence in Excel (advanced functions), Power BI, or Tableau for financial analysis and reporting.
- Mobile Applications: Familiarity with mobile apps for work order management, GPS tracking, and communication, such as Samsara or ServiceChannel.
- CRM Systems: Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce for client and vendor management.
- Document Management: Knowledge of tools like SharePoint or Google Workspace for storing, organizing, and sharing project documentation.
- Communication Platforms: Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Zoom for internal and external communication.
