Summary of Role/Position
The planning analyst will report directly to the Associate Vice President of Inventory Forecasting & Planning and is responsible for supporting the development of the short and long-range demand forecast for their assigned categories, including achieving accuracy metrics which enables the company to achieve the company goals. This role will recognize trends or patterns through business intelligence, statistical modeling techniques, historical sales, future trends, pricing, seasonality, and other qualitative data. The planning analyst is also responsible for the inventory supply plan which includes interpretation of the forecast and ensuring appropriate levels of inventory are brought in to support demand. This includes collaborating with the International Supply Chain Team to improve overall performance and resolve vendor-related issues.
Some core responsibilities of a demand planning analyst include:
- Collecting data from internal and external sources on factors known to affect demand.
- Analyzing sales, stock, and other data statistics.
- Reviewing historical sales trends.
- Modeling the data to forecast future demand.
- Obtaining information on occurrences that could impact demand like promotions and production delays.
- Gathering updates on vendors, distributors, sales, and other stakeholders that can affect demand.
- Interacting with Category Managers, and International Supply Chain team to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Collaborate within the Supply Planning organization and other areas of operations to develop inventory strategies on existing items, new products and promotions, and product phase-outs to mitigate the inventory impact of sudden changes in demand.
- Understand the dynamics of assigned categories and items, including seasonality, pricing, enthusiastic activity, trends, ad plans, category role, sales objectives, sales drivers and life cycle plans.
- Proactively participate in identifying opportunities for process improvement & developing solutions.
- Perform analysis on Key Performance Indicators (forecast accuracy, forecast error, lead time adherence, order modification rate) and implement solutions.
- Analyze and maintain optimal safety stock levels to ensure no breaks in supply or large overstocks in the distribution centers.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting as needed.
- Other projects or duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Supply Chain, Statistics, Business, or related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Analytics or Supply Chain related field.
- 2-3 year’s experience with Python in planning/forecasting environment
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management, peers, and partners, as necessary.
- Critical thinking skills required to analyze data with ability to define root cause, and corrective action.
- excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite of tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent task prioritization, follow-up, and customer service skills required.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position based on job experience, education level, global geographic region, etc: $100,000-$120,000
