This role requires deep expertise in wholesale power markets, an extensive network within the data center and energy industries, and a proven track record of structuring complex, large-load transactions.

- Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities by building and maintaining strong relationships with data center developers, operators, and key industry stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional networks to enhance market presence and brand recognition.
Transaction Structuring and Execution:
- Spearhead the end-to-end deal process, including initial proposal development, term sheet negotiation, and contract execution.
- Design and structure innovative power solutions that meet the unique needs of data center clients, including grid connection, bridge and prime generation and powered land.
- Lead the negotiation of complex legal and commercial terms with counterparties, coordinating with internal teams such as Legal, Credit, and Risk Management.
Market and Financial Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of energy markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, CAISO, ISO-NE, MISO), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities specific to large-load origination.
- Utilize advanced financial modeling skills to evaluate the economic viability, profitability, and risk of potential transactions.
- Provide expert insights on energy pricing, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to inform deal strategy and internal decision-making.
Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
- Act as the primary commercial lead for data center transactions, working closely with cross-functional teams including power trading, asset management, engineering, and finance to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on data center energy procurement, providing guidance to leadership and other business units.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA) is highly preferred.
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in power origination, wholesale power markets, or a related commercial energy role.
- 3+ years of specific experience originating and executing power supply agreements for large-load, mission-critical customers, with a strong focus on the data center sector.
- Proven track record of success in "hunting" for and closing multi-year power transactions.
- Extensive network of contacts within the data center and energy industries, including developers, operators, and power marketers.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep expertise in power market fundamentals and an understanding of grid interconnection processes, transmission planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Superior financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
