How you can help the team: 

  1. Plan, assign, direct, and appraise work.
  2. Ensure proper coverage including OT, weekends.
  3. Supervise, train, counsel and motivate department teammates.
  4. Participate in the recruiting, interviewing and disciplinary processes for department teammates.
  5. Create and execute the daily/weekly plan for the shop location.
  6. Review production schedule, evaluate and prioritize work orders and assign to appropriate personnel.
  7. Monitor operational performance and efficiency.
  8. Address equipment complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  9. Oversee the daily activities required to process the current jobs within an established schedule.
  10. Communicates, provides feedback, and collaborates with management regarding activities, issues and / or problems on jobs.
  11. Review availability of CNC programs and special tooling, if required conduct safety training.
  12. Create and/or modify CNC programs.
  13. Ensure maintenance activities are carried out within company policy, customer needs, and all legislative requirements.
  14. Serve as a backup to shop personnel as needed.
  15. Understand the value that quality plays in the overall success of the company, help in increasing the quality of our products for the appearance and safety for our customer.
  16. Actively promote a safety culture by adherence to safety procedures and established company policy regarding safety.
  17. Comply with all environmental, health and safety rules.
  18. Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all 5S procedures.
  19. Conduct all tasks and behaviors in a safe manner and comply with all JBT Machining Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
  20. Maintain all required documentation.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    What you need to be successful:

    • A high school diploma or GED is required. Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.
    • CAM software knowledge.
    • FAUNC control knowledge.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory/ Lead role in a Machine Shop.
    • Working collaboratively as part of a team; must be able to communicate effectively.
    • Support and promote Cultural Tenets.
    • Cultural change agent, with strong leadership, influencing and mentoring skills.
    • Detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and managing multiple projects.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    This is a safety sensitive position. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes. This position requires the use of personal protective equipment for safety compliance and may include overtime as deemed necessary by management.
