What to expect
The Transformation Evaluation Lead is a key member of the Transformation Function, with a critical role in supporting the delivery of Post Office’s new and ambitious transformation focused on delivering a successful, sustainable, digitally enabled business with strong, supported and trusted relations with its Postmasters. You will role model Post Office behaviours, promote a culture of inclusion and consistently demonstrate a Postmaster first mindset.
In this role you will play a pivotal role in developing Post Office’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) capability within its Transformation Function, and oversee the end-to-end delivery of all M&E activities, including strategy, stakeholder engagement, project management, reporting, assurance coordination and managing 3rd party evaluation partners.

- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise and interrogate complex data to produce actionable insights that can be understood by a wide and diverse audience, and which inform data-driven decisions. Expertise in quantitative analysis, including statistical tests, qualitative methods including design and analysis, questionnaire design, and evaluation methods would be particularly relevant.
- Strong strategic thinking ability and able to see the bigger picture, horizon scan and anticipate risks and issues before they arise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior audiences effectively, and present plans and findings clearly.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships across internal teams and with external M&E partners, and manage challenging senior stakeholder relationships where interests are not always aligned.
- High attention to detail in pressured environments and a commitment to quality assurance in evaluation design and delivery.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously and to operate independently with limited oversight.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication style, collaborate across functions, build relationships quickly and influence.
- Track record of leadership, able to successfully procure and manage supplier relationship and deliver multiple complex M&E programmes concurrently, ideally within a UK public sector context
- Breadth of experience in planning, designing and delivering process, economic (i.e. Value for Money) and impact evaluations within or for UK government Departments, agencies or arms-length bodies. We expect an established track record in designing, carrying out and managing evaluations and/or research.
