What to expect
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for delivering new security capabilities to improve the overall security posture of Post Office.
The individual in this role will support the long-term strategic goals of the Cyber Operations pillar; act as the first line of defence for attacks aimed at Post Office internally and externally and work alongside Senior and Lead Engineers to support incident response and threat & vulnerability colleagues to ensure appropriate security measures, technologies and processes are in place.

What you’ll need to succeed
• A good understanding of cyber security concepts and systems/solutions such as IDM, EDR, DLP, SIEM, DDOS etc.
• Understanding of security operational services: unified threat management, IDM, DDOS, threat and vulnerability management, DLP
• Familiarity with enterprise security controls and security best practices for Windows, Linux, and Mac systems or similar
• An understanding of network infrastructure such as VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers, LANs, Intrusion Detection, vulnerability scanning etc.
• Understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK
• Excellent self-motivation skills
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills at all levels
• Understanding of wider implications of the Cyber Security team to the future success of Post Office
• A keen interest in cyber security with enthusiasm for staying up to date with the latest trends.
